Kingsley Lake, SW Clay County, Florida, is the roundest, highest, and one of the most sought after places to own property in the state. It's sandy bottom, clear water, and gently slopped bottom make it a haven for swimmers, skiers, fisherman, and especially children. It was once the home of two public water parks, Strickland's Landing and Kingsley Beach but each has closed and the land is now a 70 lot, gated community.
Kingsley Lake sits right in the middle of the 72,000 acre Camp Blanding, Florida Army Nation Guard Reserve training base formed at the beginning of WW ll and later converted to the National Guard. Camp Blanding property is mostly the East and South area of the lake with private property on the North and West. There are approximately 250 single family homes in the area either on or off the lake. Starke is the closest town (6 miles) to the West and is in Bradford county while Middleburg, in Clay county, is about 10 miles to the Northeast.
